Massive Weight Loss?
Congratulations! You met your goal weight! This is an incredible accomplishment.
Has your skin has not recoiled as you hoped? A body lift is essentially an extended tummy tuck that will remove excess skin and fat leading to a flat stomach, smoother thighs and a lifted butt. The scar is hidden in your belt line and can be hidden by underwear or a bathing suit.
It is important that your weight has stabilized so that you have the best outcome. Typically this means that your weight has been within about a 10 lbs range for 6 months or longer. It is also critical that your vitamins and micronutrients are optimized, particularly if you had a gastric bypass. Working together with your nutritionist, we can maximize your safety and surgical outcome.
A body lift is performed as an outpatient surgery and downtime is typically 2 weeks. Since a body lift is a combination of a tummy tuck, thigh lift, and posterior body lift, these procedures can be performed together or separately.
Cost of Body Lift Surgery
The typical cost of a body lift is between $15,000 and $18,000. If you have had massive weight loss, insurance may pay for your body contouring. These costs include operating room fees and for the care of a board certified anesthesiologist.
How much weight should I lose before surgery?
The amount of weight lost is not necessarily critical to achieve your goals. There is no magic number. As long as you are healthy, and happy with your personal weight loss goals, then surgery is an option.
