What are your goals?
A tummy tuck is a great procedure that can remove excess skin and stretch marks, remove unwanted stomach fat, and tighten your stomach muscles. Dr. Rankin prides himself on taking the time to listen and understand your goals. Let’s discuss what aspect of your abdomen needs to be addressed.
If you don’t like the skin on your stomach, then we need a procedure to address skin. If you don’t like the excess fat, then we need to address the fat. If the muscles and fascia have been damaged by childbirth or weight loss…. you get it. This is a pragmatic way to find the right procedure for you.
The abdominoplasty is able to address skin problems (stretch marks, laxity, scars), reduce fat, and repair the muscular covering (fascia) of your abdomen (6 pack muscles). The incision is typically lower than a C-section scar and is easily hidden by your underwear or bikini.
Want a shredded core? liposuction or high definition liposuction can be used to highlight the muscular contours of the abdominal wall. This is not all or none. You have an image and a goal and we will help you achieve that goal.
Cost of a Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck usually costs between $10,000 – $12,000. The cost includes operating room fees and care by a board certified anesthesiologist.
Recovery after Tummy Tuck
The recovery process is requires about 2 weeks of downtime. There are no sutures that need to be removed as everything will dissolve on its own. During the first week, you will feel tired. Your stamina will be reduced but you will still aim to stay active with short walks. Walking around the house and short walks in the neighborhood are good for recovery and minimizing the risk of blood clots in the legs.
From weeks 2-4 you will be able to return to light cardio. From weeks 4-6 you can begin to reintroduce light weights as long as all activities are slow and controlled.
